I love books,Jane Austen and the Regency period, and since you’re here, I guess you do too!
This website started out as a landing page for the Jane Austen travel guide, and grew from there. I’ve been sharing my research and writing since 2015 when a volunteering project at Chawton reignited my love for Jane Austen. I was lucky enough to be invited to the many events for Jane Austen’s 200 year anniversary of her death. I loved it so much – I wrote a book about it! (Jane Austen 200)
I published Jane Austen’s Prayers, and I am working on a follow up that expands on Jane’s faith and the clergymen and church in her novels, amongst other things relevant to how she lived her life. I absolutely love them, and often go to St Nicholas church to pray with Jane to give me the finishing energy I need.
I’ve been writing the travel guide for a while now, as it’s grown to include audio, walks, maps, and other unique Jane Austen treasures. Thanks to all of you who have put me up and supported my research over the years. The book cover is beautiful, and hopefully will be out in the summer of 2025!
This site is for fun, at least for me, and is not an affiliate site.If you could buy me a coffee or leave a small donation I would really appreciate it. I hope I bring you a lighthearted view to Jane Austen and the Regency period, and look forward to seeing you at the next JAS UK or JASNA event.
Please sign up for more Jane Austen and regency news, to hear about Jane Austen 250 events and what’s happening in Jane Austen’s England before others.
I would love to hear from you, so let me know what you are up to.

Short Bio for Author Emma Darlington
Emma Darlington wanted to be an explorer and live her life at sea, until she discovered that dusty old books, churches, and museums are generally found on land. She is passionate about Jane Austen, the Regency period, carriages, and corsets, and has written five non-fiction books on the subject including Jane Austen’s Prayers, the first time Jane’s handwritten prayers have appeared in print.
Emma loves to travel and is usually away on an adventure researching her next travel guide or mystery novel. A digital nomad, Emma works in communications and supports a number of charities in her spare time. On dry land, she spends a lot of time drinking tea in Jane Austen’s village of Chawton, England.
